Who We Are
Rural Community in Development (RUCID) is both an NGO and a training institution premised in organic agriculture. The organisation started working with communities 20 years ago as a not-for-profit organisation to benefit the public through promotion of rural development and education in organic agriculture and related marketing services.
Empowering Communities Through Sustainable Agriculture
The motivation for establishing RUCID organisation was rooted from the inherent need for Sustainable Agriculture in Africa and its significance on food security, environment, economic profitability and social equity. RUCID underscores the role of every person in the community involved in the food system – be it growers, food processors, distributors, retailers, consumers, and waste managers in ensuring a sustainable agricultural system.
Since its inception, the organisation has since registered a lot unfolding from soil, crop and animal management value addition and marketing of quality products at community, regional and national levels.
